Carlton Hotel St. Moritz crowned

The World Ski Awards ceremony took place in Kitzbühel on 21 November. Every year, the awards serve to celebrate and reward excel-lence in international ski tourism. The Carlton Hotel in St. Moritz was again crowned "Switzerland's Best Ski Hotel".

Around 200 representatives from the world's tourism industry were present at the offi-cial World Ski Awards gala ceremony, held at the Hotel A-ROSA, Kitzbühel, on 21 November 2015. A total of 16 prestigious establishments were nominated for this year's "Switzerland's Best Ski Hotel" award. In the end, the trophy was carried off for the third time in a row by the Carlton Hotel in St. Moritz. "The award is a fantastic endorsement," declared a delighted Dominic Bachofen, the hotel's director, "especially because those voting were drawn not only from the industry – travel agency staff from all over the world, for instance – but also from amongst the guests themselves."

Over a 16-week period, hundreds of thousands of winter sports aficionados voted online at worldskiawards.com. The World Ski Awards are part of the World Travel Awards, seen as the "Oscars" of the tourism industry. First held in 2013, the World Ski Awards serve to celebrate and reward excellence in ski tourism as a means of maintaining high standards in the industry. Every year, the "Best Ski Hotel" category receives nomina-tions from more than 20 countries for hotels whose successful blend of amenities and service creates a unique experience. Being voted "Switzerland's Best Ski Hotel" has delighted Dominic Bachofen and his team as they prepare for the forthcoming season, not least because, as he puts it: "The endorsement additionally motivates us to give of our best this winter."
